Didn't get it completely due to some shameful Tamilliteracy: "வளி, அளி,குடர,உழல" to be precise.

reminds me of bharathi's "pEyavaL kAn engaL annai"

Good one Agnibarathi

@Parvati - Thanks! :-)

@JAB - That's nice, the first stanza was total inspiration. I can claim no credit to that.

@MSP - That's not shameful. niraya pErkku theriyAtha vArththaigaL thAn avai.

vaLi - Air
aLi - Grace, Mercy
kudar - Bones (abhirAmi anthAthiyil kUda varum sudarum kalai mathi thunRum enRu Arambikkum pAttil - kudarum kozuvum kuruthiyum thOyum kurambaiyilE ena)
uzal - Toil

Intersting you speak of pEyavaL kAN engaL annai. You know Bharathi set it to Anandha bhairavi? That's very very interesting!

Thanks for the mini glossary. Thanks for trying to be comforting but you ended up saying that I am not just ignorant but common too :-)

As for Anandha Bhairavi..it is news to me... because I dont know Anandha Bhairavi. I handle some ignorances better than others. I shall wait till the raga-intro series (with attendent paintings and lyrical descriptions)gets there.

@MSP - Amn, now you are making me uncomfortable and embarassed! :-P Anandabhairavi (don't think I know lots about music, jsut a akththukutti) is the ragam that is used int he song konja naal poRu thalaivA in Asai. It's very pleasing and happy energetic rAgam.

Thanks again. I agree it is quite interesting that Bharati chose this raagam for the song. I haven't heard the song so I am forcibly fitting Bharati's words into Deva's tune with clumsy consequences :-)
